title: My Collections

Over the past year I’ve become painfully aware that most of today’s internet is only for rent (which is one of the reasons I created my own website). Therefor, I have decided to start collecting physical media again so that the things I care about and are important can't be taken away from me.

title: 'My CD Collection'
---

Music has been very important for me since I was a kid. I grew up with a dad that was a musician and music was always a part of everyday life.

I have been using Spotify for most of my listening since it's early beta days, and bought a premium subscription as soon as it was available. Occasionally trying Apple Music for that sweet Hi-Res quality.

But, there is something very satisfying putting on a physical CD album and just listen through it instead of "doomscrolling" an skipping through songs on streaming platforms. I will probably still use Spotify to discover new music until I find another source.

I start by securing the music that has meant the most to me throughout my life and then go from there.
